Peace River vertebrae

So I forgot to ask for an ID on this yesterday - but anyone know what kind of vert this is? If you can name the animal even better - but I’m mostly looking for caudal/cervical/lumbar/thoracic, etc. found a few with this same shape but none as nice as this one.

I saw this diagram on a previous vert ID here, looks like one side is convex and one concave (can't tell front from back so either procoelous vs opisthocoelous).

So i've seen that image before - but I was under the impression (And could be totally wrong) that the "Ball" on a a reptilian vert such as a snake or turtle is much more rounded and covex, and that the vert I have, despite the slight convex and concavity, is still mammalian. Also in looking at different kinds of turtle and other reptile verts the one I have is very much not a match. Snake, lizard, turtle, gator/croc... no match.

It's a garfish (Lepisosteidae) vertebra

Garfish have verts like that? weird! But that makes so much sense, thanks a ton Frank!

The one I found in the pic above is obviously tiny - but I have a BV one that's just the centrum and is about an inch and a bit long and an inch or so wide.

The ones in the HC can get 1 inch long.  The more has not changed very much.
