Is it being a bad show???? I was expecting an absolutely brutal show after a 2-year break due to COVID... I see a significant loss in quantity... variety and quality of material that you have published for the moment compared to your publications from other years...
I have seen a Dimetrodon and an Edaphosaurus through other publications... Also the best specimen of a Helicoprion I have ever seen in my life... but not much else...

I was expecting a lot of dinosaur material.. some mounted skeletons..etc..etc..

Thanks from Europe for making this thread every year. It helps us and makes us enjoy a lot.

The show is about typical from I've see in prior years other than prices are up significantly.  Every year is different and I don't expect to see the same material at each show.  The volume is pretty typical and the online dealers were saying that its best quality Kem Kem material they've seen years and I agree.    All the sellers I've spoken to are very very happy with sales which is why they are present and the show exists.  Yes there are a few fewer complete skeletons but those are rare finds and are not by themselves an indicator of how successful the show is.  The money is made for a majority of dealers on "smalls" and that's what they bringing.  Skeleton in todays environment may best be sold privately or on auctions.

Yeah, The first one is a mid caudal spino.
The last two are both likely croc. I'm thinking anterior dorsal and mid dorsal.

I don't know... On Facebook and WhatsApp and in your own thread we noticed that there are fewer extraordinary things that attract attention than other years... In Tucson there are always at least 20 specimens that leave you with a smile... but this year for now nothing can be seen... maybe the expectations were too high...
What I liked the most in the show for now is the head of the Phytosaur... I didn't expect something like that. And in teeth are also really good this year.
About the prices... they are not significantly high... they are that if this trend continues... for many of us this hobby is over...

Thank you again for your hard work!!

This is not intended to be a museum show its a collector/ wholesale show where everyone can purchase fossils and dealers can make money.   Those extraordinary fossils may be nice to see online but for the average person well out of reach to acquire.  I'm always happy to go home with a couple of fossils I can carry home.

Also please don't use my photos as a measure that it captures the entire show, I can assure you it doesn't especially since I'm walking around with a busted toe, and it hurts.

At the Co-op a mega in-situ plate from the Lance Formation full of Edmontosaurus bones and lots of T rex teeth  .... all very real and one of the coolest items at the show.

@jpc  I collect in a Edmonto bonebed that is dense, but nothing rivals this one, fewer Trex teeth, ha ha

That's some crazy bone density! I can imagine that being hard to prep, so probably a good thing they kept it as it is... Moreover, the story that can be told from it now is likely so much more interesting than would be the individual bones!

I don't inquire or look at all the items on the shelves.  Looks like the process are restored

Oh okay, thank you for the response. I agree that the processes look like they have had some work done to them, but it's hard to tell to what extent. The left half of the centrum also looks like it might have been worked on, but it could just be the lighting.

A complete tyrannosaurid vert is one of the top items on my wish list. I currently own a rex caudal that has a lot of erosion to the processes, so I'm looking for something in better shape with little to no restoration.

If you see any tyrannosaurid vertebrae that are fairly complete, do you mind taking a few pictures? If it's too much trouble, no worries.

It's fantastically prepared, too. Really gives a sense of how the bones were jumbled up in the streambed. Would make an excellent museum exhibit.
