Shale_stack
This was found in Douglas Pass Colorado years ago. I’m not sure if it’s coral or a sponge or nothing. Thoughts ?
Fossildude19
I thought the Douglas Pass was a fresh water environment? In which case, this would not be a fossil. Not really seeing anything definitive here. So, Douglas Pass is Eocene, Green River Formation. Definitely fresh water environment. I suppose this could be some sort of sedimentary structure, or evaporite of some sort, but I do not see anything fossil related here. 1 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." Rockwood
I'm pretty sure stromatolites are seen in that area. Any chance this could be ?
jpc
There are indeed stromatolites in the area, but this is not one.
