A day trip to Bowling Green, Florida

Family Fun

Recommended Posts

I was able to meet with Daniel and his parents at a pay site on 12/3/2022, and the finds did not disappoint, at least for me.

First of all, Daniel and his family were amazing folks.  His parents were probably closer to my age, maybe even a bit younger, haha.  That said, Daniel’s playlist was spectacular, it was late 60s and early 70s soft rock, it made the trip extra special.

This was my first time to this site, and clearly a different type of finding fossils.  Working for them was harder than I expected, but not too difficult.

Here is are my three favorite finds of the day.

And thank you again Daniel, I look forward to another trip early next year.

Happy to have met you and had the company! Even if you did find all the good teeth between you and Mick :heartylaugh:

And definitely looking forward to getting out again, it was a lot of fun!

Those megs are nice! I like the smaller one best. Nearly perfect.

No they did not! Wish they had megs here in Texas. Posts with beautiful teeth like these make me so :envy:. Especially love the contrast between black crown and white root.

The pictures don't do em justice - they're actually blue. And come in shades from lighter blue to darker.

These were our Megs. The smallest of which my mom found and didn’t even realize was a Meg until I pointed it out.

It was my best finds to date, so beyond happy with the results.  Besides meeting Daniel and his family, an old high school friend went with me and here were his finds of the day. I thought his horse tooth was extra nice.

That small meg is gorgeous. Definitely the find of the day. Beautiful tooth!

It is always a special treat to meet up with fossil friends for a hunt. I’m glad you and Daniel had a great time. :)

Oh, and nice finds too! Love the darker blue color and contrasting white root.

I just did my first dig there on Thursday! It was a great time, found some real pretty teeth, shame the bigger ones were missing the tips. Can’t wait to go again. Great finds guys!
