Fossildude19
Just goes to show how eye opening it is, to realize that not everything posted online is true. Fossils are often misidentified online, either by design or innocent ignorance. 1 3 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." hemipristis
The preservation resembles the fish material from the Cretaceous Niobrara Chalk of Kansas. Perhaps Gillicus sp. or Cimolichthys sp. 3 'Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.' George Santayana

With fossils like all else I suppose, it is Buyer Beware. The sheer number of fossil frankensteins and misidentifications on certain auction sites is disturbing 'Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.' Often fossils are intentionally misidentified to sell better. A Mosasaur vertebra will sell for more than a fish vertebra. An American or European Mosasaur tooth will always sell better than a Moroccan one 1 http://www.paleotheque.fr
