connorp
This concretion opened up a couple weeks ago. When I first looked at it, I could tell there was something there, but the contrast between it and the surrounding matrix was very low, so I didn't think much of it. I got around to looking at it again yesterday. In very bright oblique light, I realized it was actually a very beautiful spider with legs and all. It measures about 1cm. I am not sure on the ID. Misha
Wow! Amazing find! are these actual spiders or trigonotarbids? I don't know how you can tell between the two
deutscheben
Nice job spotting this! What an excellent little arachnid.
siteseer
Wow. You might ask other Mazon Creek collectors what the best thing to use to add some contrast. Clear shellac dries slightly darker on some rocks.
RCFossils
Nice arachnid. Looks to be a Phalangiotarbid.
MarcoSr
I have problems seeing the specimens in some of these Mazon Creek nodules, just not a lot of contrast. I see an oblong object in the pictures, but I'm not seeing any legs. Can you highlight your picture with a color, like red, outlining the spider and showing the legs?
