SomethingIsFishy
This is a tooth I found in Northwest Kansas (Graham Co.). It is 100 percent complete. It looks like nothing I have ever seen before. It has cerrated edges which leads me to believe it is Squalicorax Sp. but I am not sure because of its odd and blunt shape. Darktooth
Close-up pics would truly help. From what I can see though, this tooth appears pathological. 1 I like Trilo-butts and I cannot lie.
SomethingIsFishy
What do you mean by "pathological"?
SomethingIsFishy
I couldn't get closer photos because my camera isn't very good. Sorry.
bthemoose
Is it serrated? If so, then it’s a pathological Squalicorax (crow shark) tooth. If not, it is probably unidentifiable without clearer photos. Pathological means it’s abnormal/malformed. See this page for further info on pathological shark teeth: http://www.elasmo.com/frameMe.html?file=refs/terms/patho.html&menu=bin/menu_refs-alt.html
