From This To This, Amateur Crab Prep.

Been working the last few days in my spare time on one of the Crabs I collected on Thursday. I used a cp airscribe with a stock tip and a dremmel tool. Crabs seem so far to be easier to expose then the shrimp I am used to doing, though a smaller scribe and a texas airsonics micro blaster are still on my wish list. Seems like the legs are folded underneath it, one leg comes out above the left claw.

Hey Mr. J. It doesnt seem to matter weather its this Pulalius your working on, or any other species of crab. Trying to get a crab with all its legs nicely spaced and clear to the tippy tips seems to be almost impossible!!! Your fingers look like they are taking a real beating too! Good job though. Wish I had more time.

Ditto for my Texas crabs. Most of the time I find carapaces lacking legs and claws, but they are often perfect 3D detailed specimens.

The detail is incredible. I assume it's extremely difficult to avoid damaging the fossil itself as you uncover it.

Besides fossils,

I collect roadcuts,

Stream beds,

Winter beaches:

Places of pilgrimage.
