Daze
Hi, according to the seller this is a 2 inch Tyrannosaurus Rex tooth from the Hell Creek Formation, Harding County, South Dakota. Really interested in your opinions, thanks.
Troodon
Could be but need a straight in view of the base to verify. Looks like the crown was broken in at least 3 pieces and reattached

GTS
Shape and base. From Buried Treasure fossils: “T-Rex teeth enamel wall is thick when looking at the end. Again, this provides the massive crushing power for these teeth”. Note - rectangular too, not just oval. 15 minutes ago, Troodon said: Enamel thickness is not what matters it's the shape of the base. Troodon
Yes maxillary teeth are typically have a rectangular base. On big Trex teeth sure the enamel is thick but we are usually comparing smaller teeth where the diagnostic feature is the shape of the base. @GTS
GTS
The ovalness of the basal outline would seem to suggest that it’s dentary. Note that the teeth pictured also have thick enamel - effectively smaller versions of large, adult teeth. If these were larger, the enamel would be proportionally thicker too.
