Fossil bone found in Back yard Capetown South Africa - Please ID

Good Day.

I Have seen this in my back yard lying around  - looked like n peice of wood.

when I picked it up I was shocked at its weight and it is like stone.

on closer inspection it looks like a Rib bone of some sort.

also picked-up the small piece looking like a fraction of a joint - also seems like solid rock.

note sure if it forms part of the same animal.

Could someone Please help ID.

Ribs are very hard to id.  They look so much alike.  The other smaller piece might be more identifiable if you show it on sides.  Finding the geological age. of your location will also give you a further rough idea of what might be found .  Your local fossil club and local museum or university paleo department are other good sources.

I had no idea what a fosilized bone would look like until I saw this and realized that this "Rock" actualy was a bone - WOW
