Megalodon tooth

Recommended Posts

Hi, is this real? Recently I've bought a megalodon tooth but I didn't get a authenticity document and I have no experience in fossils. Can you help me please?

10-15 mil years, 12.1 cm, Miocene age

Looks OK to me.  For your information - Anyone with a computer and a printer can print out a "Certificate of Authenticity".  They mean NOTHING.

They are more worthless than the ink and paper they are printed with.

Besides the crack possibility being repaired and the possibility of a possible sandstone/matrix root as is common with Indonesia Megs - it's very much a real tooth!

Fossils? I dig it. :meg:

Hi Yes its real! looks OK to be , and indeed a certificate does not mean anything, since everyone can just print one out with whatever they want to add to it. You can only trust in your own knowledge, and this forum ;-)

No resto, but labial side root is just carved sandstone, root probably not preserved on that side, so they carved it out of matrix. Should be cheap!
