Found in the Calvert formation of Virginia. I think it’s a Mercenaria sp. but would love some thoughts.

Looks right to me.  Just as a side note (may not be necessary here), its always helpful to show the hinge of a bivalve when requesting an ID, that is often where distinctive features lie.

Found a piece of the Mercenaria hinge in NMB, North Myrtle Beach South Carolinia with a quarter sized blister pearl. Not clear if modern or fossil shell. But a delightful find. Keep on the lookout.
