Found what looks like a tooth fragment last week. I've only ever found Petalodus teeth in this formation and it doesn't quite look like those. There are no serrations on the fragment. This was found in Allegheny County, PA, is from the Glenshaw Formation and is probably out of the Brush Creek Limestone.Thanks for the help.

I'm thinking Mother Nature is up to her old tricks again with what seems to be a geologic item masquerading as a Petalodus tooth. I have zero experience with these teeth (other than what I see here on the forum) but I'm not seeing signs of a tooth but more of a tooth-shaped rock here. Others will chime in with more authoritative replies.
