Hi, i found this little big guy in an old fossil box. This one looked a bit weird for my taste, but I'm not an expert. Maybe one of you guys can help me out. Sorry for photobombing and thanks for your help!

Hi, that was also my first thought, but it is about 13cm long and weights just around 100gramm. Also the spongebone structure at the end...

I've seen composed ones and some made out of bone, but both at the same time? Never seen something like this, also with this weight and bone structure

Do you know where its from?  Anything about its stratigraphy?

You should get title changed to get a wider view.

None, thats the big problem. I can't even tell you, If it IS a spinosaurus claw (or replica) or the claw of another theropod. But thanks for your help!

Yes they use a grinder or mole/template to shape the 'claw' and use some parts of bone along with it. The only side that could suggest somesort of bone structure is the back side here seen bellow. But im convinced this is due to the type of rock, its some kind of moisty sandstone. The other parts really show no fossil like claw structure.

It also looks like they have just added a claw like shape on top of the 'bone structure' part on the  back end, ive marked it with red. You can see its lighter, and has different structure

I would definitely avoid this. And without proper provenance , all red flags. I would not even call it a replica because it does not really look like a claw to me. Just a pointy rock

I dont know what it is certainly not a claw or even close to one.  Without a locality its difficult to say much.  If nothing points to Morocco I doubt it was "made" to look like Spinosaurus. Still an oddity to me.  The bone structure in the broken end probably goes through the piece.

The bone seems to go through the piece, just from the aspect of its light weight. Like it is coated... What is odd to me ist also the flat part which you can see at the picture with the Euro-coin. If I find out something new, i'll let you know.
