SomeDino Posted March 2, 2023 Share Posted March 2, 2023 Was in Florida for a long weekend so I spent some time in the Peace River near Arcadia, Fl and picked this up. By size and basic shape it seems like a mastodon or mammoth vertebrae, but I haven't been in the area enough to tell and granted it’s very worn. jcbshark Posted March 2, 2023 Share Posted March 2, 2023 It’s is very worn and that will make ID difficult but from experience whale verts outnumber mammoth at least 100 to 1 from what I’ve seen collecting here 1 1 2 Every once in a great while it's not just a big rock down there!
