tracer
i'd probably email the photos or a link to here to the fmnh or some other institution that looks at such things a lot. to me one reason it seems not to be from a xenarthran is that it doesn't have any xenarthrous processes on it. the reason i said "gatory" was because of the fairly small spinal canal and the way some of the processes sit in a "box" formation on top of the centrum, but i will also grant that it does not look like the typical gator vert in several other respects. but it also doesn't look like the typical mammal verts i've seen either. good luck with the id quest and i'd like to hear when you find out what it is definitively.
