I'm interested in this Cave bear proximal phalange but I'm unsure if it's authentic or not, or if it is indeed U. spelaeus or another species of Ursus. Found in Austria.

many on the market, but most of them are bad... This one looks nice, really, if you can buy it at a reasonable price, will be a good catch!

True! If you could possibly make a paw out of it as well. It of course would take some time, but if you got only quality bones like this, You will get a beautiful paw out of it.

in deed, not easy to get good bones

we had the opportunity to get an old collection full of (not so well preserved ones) austrian paw-bones, might be some day we recreate the cave bear :smilodon::trilosurprise:. But, have to sort them first and look for some digits, otherwise it will be a paw with two or three half-meter fingers :heartylaugh:
