No Idea What This Is - Except it’s a fossil

I acquired this as part of a fossil collection at an estate sale in Florida.  Most of the fossils are from Florida.  This was in a box labeled China, Rhinoceros Tooth which it obviously isn’t.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

This is an osteoderm. At first I thought maybe gator, but looks different from what I have seen from other specimens.

Yeah, osteoderm, i agree with that. Probably from a reptile, and i agree it doesn't look like the usual gator osteoderm, but it might be one nonetheless.

Yup. Looks like a gator osteoderm. Seems like one that articulates with another as there appears to be an edge suture.

Cheers.

Congratulations on your find. I opened this post expecting to be greeted by your typical chunk-o-therium, but was surprised to find this marvelous osteoderm. Looks great.
