Kribensis
I acquired this as part of a fossil collection at an estate sale in Florida. Most of the fossils are from Florida. This was in a box labeled China, Rhinoceros Tooth which it obviously isn’t. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Darktooth
This is an osteoderm. At first I thought maybe gator, but looks different from what I have seen from other specimens. 2 1 I like Trilo-butts and I cannot lie.
Rockwood
Could we see the edges ? I think it could be a plate from a turtle shell.
fifbrindacier
Yeah, osteoderm, i agree with that. Probably from a reptile, and i agree it doesn't look like the usual gator osteoderm, but it might be one nonetheless. digit
Yup. Looks like a gator osteoderm. Seems like one that articulates with another as there appears to be an edge suture. Cheers. -Ken 2
Carl
Definitely a crocodilian osteoderm. And a nice one!
Parasaurolophus
Congratulations on your find. I opened this post expecting to be greeted by your typical chunk-o-therium, but was surprised to find this marvelous osteoderm. Looks great.
Meganeura
Looks like a pretty standard gator osteoderm to me! 1 Fossils? I dig it.
