RE:

Are you interested in preserving fossil sites by signing online

petition or requesting a paper petition? We found out that an area

behind our vegas home (North Las Vegas) has one of the country's

greatest Plestocene (mammoth etc) as well as archaeological sites in

the country that is managed by BLM. The Cities (Vegas & North Las

Vegas), the County and State want to build housing and cut a freeway

through the fossil deposits. Some of the congressmen and locals

have been working together about having this fossil wash area

designated as a National Conservation Area etc. We are sending

online and paper petitions for signatures to ask that this area be

protected. See 1) the mammoth tooth and other fossil images in the

photo section and the files about the site (both under a POTS folder

in photo and file section) where POTS = Protection for Tully Springs

Please see other attachments and this webite for more information:

We still desperately need you to ask friends and relatives from

across the Country to sign the on line petition below. No money is

requested and you need not be a resident of Nevada. The signatures

will be submitted at the end of May.
