Central Texas: bone? Scute? Tooth? ID help needed

Hi all - I found these two pieces in Central Texas today. Anyone have any ideas? The first one looks like some kind of bone, the second looks like some kind of oolitic sediment or possibly a fossilized scute (according to google image search). I could also be way off on these. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

It looks like quartz grains to me. I think it is a sandstone with rounded grains.

I agree with Eric on the second specimen, not oolitic.  See an example of an oolitic specimen from my collection below.

first one is for sure bone, but I suspect more angles would be needed to nail down an ID
