Hi all

I recognise one as an ammonite but unsure what species. I do not know anything about the bottom one. If anyone could help that would be greatly appreciated

Cheers

Any idea where they were found?

The fish looks like a Leptolepides sprattiformis from Solnhofen.

No idea about the location sorry, Thanks for the information!

There are not enough diagnostic features on the ammonite to determine even the genus, particularly when the stratigraphy and location are failing.

The ammonite could be from the Treuchtlingen Formation (Upper Jurassic, Kimmeridgian). The limestone is mined in the region of Treuchtlingen in the Altmühltal and processed to window sills, stairs and tiles. In this limestone very often fossils are found, such as ammonites and belemnites, which are sold cut and polished, often with the (false) designation of origin Solnhofen. See for example https://www.fossnet.de/treuchtlingen.php .

Be not ashamed of mistakes and thus make them crimes (Confucius, 551 BC - 479 BC).

If you mean the features below, these are so-called "dendritic" mineral formations.
