I wondered what could be that little one (about 1 cm), i found last year in the Bathonian of Normandy. A coral, maybe a sponge ?

I've took the best photos i could.

first moment I thought it could be a sponge (like Porosphaera), but think it is not this genus

Could you describe the fine structures (there are some small round structures to be seen)

do not think it is a coral

Well, i couldn't take good enough pics of them, but they have a polygonal shape. I also thought sponge at first, but then, i found this Site and thought thrn it could be a very worn coral, like the Allocoeniopsis Lucien suspendu they show.

Pretty sure it's not a coral, possibly a sponge, but have you considered worn echinoid?

That hole at one end could be the anus?

In the first photo of the last message, calyxes, columellas and septa appear to be visible. I would say it is a coral.

Yes, that was one of the possibilities.

I'll stick to that opinion, though à very worn echinoid can still be a good candidate.
