Is it a Fish ID?

I found this stone in a pile of stones from a ruin in northern France in the middle of the border with Belgium 1993. I always thought it was a fish print. a few weeks ago after I cleaned my first fish fossils. I looked at this fish with a different eye, is it really a fish? the shape is correct, the scales are correct and it seems to have fins, but the scales pattern runs through that, which I find strange. at the pelvic fin at the end, the stone is 1 cm deeper, but the fin runs through it. so who can help me.
thank you in advance

Seems to me to be geological, the result of the drying of the sediment during the rock forming process..

  • JohnJ changed the title to Is it a Fish ID?

These look like ripple marks, to me.

If I remember right this is sort of like an interference pattern caused by water movement in multiple directions.
