I went out to a member that I have hunted for over 20 years. It has a complex stratigraphy with minor transgressions and regressions. I would usually stick to the deeper water stuff because the littoral stuff is rare, usually broken, and few and far in between, but lately I have been finding some unusual stuff in the beach deposits(covered by flood deposits).

Today, I thought I would have a peek since I had parked where that sequence is located. I spent about 15 minutes finding nothing unusual, and then I came a cross a weathered Pycnocrinus; calyx and arms. After about another 10 minutes I found a whole Pycnocrinus. The latter needs some prep, but I am psyched.

This is only the 2nd, and 3rd, crinoid that I have found in this member in 20 years.

My daughter has my camera, but I took these with my cell phone.

More pics later.

Most cool, so great to get something you were after. Have never found a complete one myself.

Congratulations!
