LoneRanger
Found this several years ago at Aurora NC (Miocene, Pliocene) and stored it away. It's an unusual small vertebrae. The top and bottom scans show that there are 2 holes that aren't aligned between the scans: in top scan, the holes are separated, while in bottom scan the holes are very close. All ideas are appreciated!
bj aurora
It's been a while, but it looks like a caudal vert from a porpoise to me
LoneRanger
Okay, but this piece must be from a young/immature porpoise. In other verts that are the usual size in my collection, the top and bottom holes either fuse shut completely or appear as nothing more than tiny pinholes.
