Skull Fragment

Sharks of SC

Recommended Posts

I found this bone yesterday. Its symetrical and very dense, so I assumed it was a fragment of a skull.

Found on the Wando River, SC. Miocene.

It does look like it could be a chunk o' noggin; beyond that, I'm no use.

Looks like part of a dugon(manatte) skull cap. I've got one somewhere will try to find it tomorrow and compare.

Excellent rare find If you have Frank Kocsis book "Vertebrate Fossils: A Neophyte's guide " look at page 104 there is a frontal view. I have found one in 10 years. Great find. Hoffy
