Proboscidean Carpal/tarsal?

i'm too tired to be funny, which isn't a good thing. but anyway, although this specimen has a bit of the cortical surfaces rubbed off, it nonetheless possesses enough of them to make me feel it more or less has it's original shape, with no broken-off pieces or anything. and, like some other things we find, it's too big to have been from a current critter. i was wondering if it might be a carpal or tarsal bone from a mammoth or mastodon. what do you think?
