jppepin
Could anyone help identify this fossil shark tooth found on the beach at Onslow Beach,NC. It is very dark black and the size is about 2 3/4. Any help would be appreciated. Also, any info on where I could take it to get it checked in Northeast Ohio and a possible buyer or the best place to sell it. thanks!
Auspex
It's well worn, but it looks like a "Meg" (Carcharocles megalodon). In this condition, it is worth a few dollars as a curio; maybe $10-20 on Ebay. Foshunter
It's most likely a Megalodon tooth but dude, the condition is not the great, might be best to give it to a niece, nephew or a neighbor kid or even just a beach treasure to set on your shelf and retain bragging rights to.--Tom Grow Old Kicking And Screaming !!"Don't Tread On Me"
RickNC
I find many like that. I usually keep them but they go in the 'other' pile.

Shellseeker
It's a meg, my avatar is 2.25 inches, so your find is a bigger version of mine, also jet black and found in the Peace River Florida, last December.
