astron
Hello. I found this echinoid in middle Crete island, Greece. It is of the late Miocene and measures 12 x 7 x 3,5 cm. In my attempt to extract it from the sand stone it was embedded, it broke in two amost equal parts and I avoid restoration in order to be visible the interior structure of the item. I think it is a clypeaster but I am not sure, Any opinion??? Thanks for any help Astrinos P. Damianakis
Foshunter
It is a Clypeaster, am not familiar with species from where it was found, do like the idea of leaving in two parts to study the inside.--Tom Grow Old Kicking And Screaming !!"Don't Tread On Me"
Megaselachus13
It reminds me a Clypeaster scillae. Edited December 2, 2010 by Megaselachus13
