I wen back out to the site where I have been retrieving the crinoids, and was able to pull a little 20cm x 20 cm slab out. When I cleaned it up, I found 4 crinoid calyx on the thing. On a smaller piece, I found 2

Most are in the matrix, but the outline of one can be seen in the upper right.

Are you going to be able to get the crinoids out of the matrix then?

You probably already have it, but they have the different types of worms on there. Until recently,

I didn't even realize what worms fossilized looked like.. I only find worm tubes here. Pretty amazing

looking creatures...

When soaked in water, the matrix loosens up quite a bit. I've damaged some others using a pin-vice, so I'm going to wait to prep them until I get my blaster set up. They should turn out pretty nice.

I've pulled 15 from this site, but I'm near the end; to get many more would require quarrying. I might be able to pull a couple more small slabs out.

I went back to the outcrop today, and found two different kind of holdfasts in a bed that is about 1m lower, and 20m lateral, than the bed that I have been pulling the crinoids.

Close up of the circular one. Though, it is kind of hard to see in the pic, the nodal rises have aligned, and inter-grown, in the two separate loops of the stem. Very unusual.

Another for comparison that I found earlier this year.
