What's the BEST dinosaur tooth in your collection? I want to see your dino pride and joy! I've got a feeling a lot of them will be T-rex teeth or a similar large therapod tooth. At the moment my best would probably be a small Velociraptor Mongoliensis tooth i got a few years ago but i'm very close to buying this 3 inch Carcharodontosaurus tooth from a US dealer and i'm sure it will takeover as my best dinosaur tooth. It's already been reserved for me :)

I am going the opposite direction with my favorite tooth, it is from a very small therapod. I found surface collecting a microsite in the Hell Creek (late Cretaceous) last summer. Serrations only visible under a loupe. The tooth appears to be Richardostesia Type II. Very small at only about 7mm in length (Scale in cm). I love the microsites!

A tiny Leptoceratops tooth. It's got a lot of detail on it and a nice bit of root too :)

I also like the pair of Iguanodon teeth I've got, don't have a picture of them saved on my computer though. I'll try and get a pic posted up soon though.

Neat, what dinosaur are they from? They look like Ankylosaur teeth to me (if not definitely from a herbivore).

Megatooth Collector

Thought I might resurrect this thread since I have added a few new Dino teeth to my collection recently. Man, it's hard to pic just one though so here are my favorites. From left to right...

(left) 5.5" Carch, 4.5" Carch best quality, 5" Carch, and 7" Spino with some restoration to root (right). I love large sharks teeth, but their is something pretty awesome about holding one of these large theropod teeth in your hand!

Megatooth, your dino teeth collection is one of the best private collections I've seen. I collect Carch and Spino teeth too but don't have anything as large as yours. Not only are they big but the quality is great too which is a hard thing to find.

As for me much has changed since my original post, I don't even have that Carch tooth that is pictured above anymore. Will have to put some updated pics up of what I've got.

Well I do have some Spinosaur and Charcharodontosaur teeth that look decent. And this rather nice Moroccan Abelisaurid tooth.

My best are the ones in my avatar (the large one is 3.25" long) and a complete Hadrosaur tooth with root.

How would I go about acquiring a quality Rex tooth? I have always wanted one but going to the states and finding one is out the question. I'd probably have to buy one.

"Allcash818" has a couple of beauties for sale on eBay "buy it now". A 2.9 inch and a perfect black one if you are interested. They are Rex and not cheap.

I don't have many dinosaur teeth to brag about except this whopper. It's a 5.5 inch T. rex tooth from the Hell Creek Formation. It has absolutely zero repair / restoration and was found in a river channel deposit in Carter County, Montana. The serrations are mostly intact, although the few that are missing are obvious evidence of the voracious appetite of this fearsome predator.

The tooth hurts! :o:P

Thanks! I certainly would have included details had I been the lucky finder. The diggers literally cried tears of joy when it was discovered.

When it was time to pay for it, I shed some tears too! :P
