William
I found these fossils and stones in a creek bead in Indiana. About half of the pictures I posted are stones, but very interesting looking. Can anyone identify the fossils? I'm guessing on some of these... A. Fossil (obvious) B. Is this bark or just formed by water? C. A very peculiar rock. How does this happen? D. Another interesting rock. Again, how does this form? E. Is this bark too, or just another formation by water? F. Another fossil. Looks similar to A, but smaller. G. This really looks like bark to me, but I've only just started collecting. What do you think? Here's a link to the pictures My rocks and fossils I know this is a fossil forum, but I thought someone out here might know how some of these interesting rocks form. Guest solius symbiosus
I'm not very familiar with plant material(B & G). Add a pic in your next post and see if others will chime in. See if you can find some more of it. It kind of looks like a short segment of Calamites, or an inner bark of a Lycopsid.
