howard_l
was out last weekend collecting in south central KY. I went home a new way and discovered that they have built and building a new four lane to I-75. I knew this area had units I was interested in but had never found a good outcrop. They had cut through all the hills exposing all of the Lower Mississippian units. I know it takes a while for a lot of fossils to start eroding out but I stopped anyway. Since it was hot and I didn't have a lot of time I spent my time picking up siderite nodules to crack open at home. When I got home the first nodule I opened was a very nice but small ammonite. I though I had hit the jackpot! It turns out it was the only thing I found. Howard_L http://triloman.wix.com/kentucky-fossils
Fossildude19
Still pretty cool! And there is potential! Keep looking - I'm sure it'll pay off for you! Great little ammo! Thanks for sharing it with us!
