wolfgang
I am writing a new book on Nautilus and nautiloids (same format as my recent book www.Heteromorph.com) and would like to use Fossil Dude's pictures of the fossil spine he found in 2012. I also need to have some locality information to tie it to a particular fossil we are featuring in the book. Could someone please put us in touch? Thanks in anticipation. wolfgang
Depending on the locality where this was found it could be something very different! If it is Jurassic...then I have another idea. Contact me!
cngodles
I know this is almost 5 years later, but I did find a Solenochilus with an attached portion of lateral spine. I believe it's a juvenile, so it's not very long, but it's a spine none the less. I got confirmation from the local expert on Cephalopods. https://fossil.15656.com/2020/04/05/solenochilus-iii-with-lateral-spine/ Fossils of Parks Township - Research | Catalog | How-to Make High-Contrast Photos
