whowat13
This was my find of the day this past Friday at C.F. Industries... Approximately 3% of the blade (Give or take 2%) was sticking out of the ground, and that is what I pulled it out of the ground by. It took me about 2 hours of looking at this (At home, and not all at once) to realize that there was the remains of a cusp on this tooth. The cusp is circled in the second picture. This was found in part of the Bone Valley formation (Here in Florida). I was told that it is rare to find this tooth here in FL, and I would like to hear your opinions... Enjoy... Cris
I'm going to call megalodon tooth on this fossil....sometimes they get a strange little pathology near the base of the blade.. Still, congrats on the nice find!
THobern
Definetely Megalodon. It might be a small pathology, but at that size, it could just be juvenile atavism.
MikeDOTB
Agreed, Megalodon. DO, or do not. There is no try.
