rellis1962
Hello all. I am new to this but have had an interest in rocks, minerals and fossils since I was a kid. I have a fair amount of formal education in geology but have forgotten much more than I remember. I found this massive piece of petrified palm around Lake Livingston, Texas. It weighs around 20 lbs. We have a weekend place there and I have recently become very fascinated with the variety of petrified wood and agate in the area. I have picked up about 40 lbs of the stuff lately just on my property. This large piece of palm was found on a beach not too far from my house. Taxman56
I hope you didn't have to lug that too far down the beach
rellis1962
A buddy and I took turns hauling it back to the boat. He also found a nice piece of palm about the size of my hand. We found quite a bit of nice looking petrified wood. These newly exposed beaches (drought) are interesting places to comb.
