Odd Bumpy Stuff

this one is interesting. it appears to be a mold or burrow cast of some sort (i have collected many rocks with a similar shape), but the texture is unique. the 2" long rock appears to be embedded with hundreds of 1mm or less bumps, colored brown, grey and white. does anyone know what these are?

Looks like oolites to me.

At first I thought they were oolitic limsetone.

Not sure where this sample was located according to a geologic map, maybe a Dunite, Dolomite, or Evaporite (They look different than the TX) varity. But also looks riugh like a sandstone, maybe white sandstones...but that would make it an import.

it could be an evaporite. i know there is a huge silurian salt mine in wayne county, but i dont know if there are any devonian evaporites deposits nearby.
