Another Ordovician Gastropod

Northern Sharks

Recommended Posts

I finally have a book to help me with the ID of my ordovician finds (Invertebrate Paleontology by Twenhofel and Shrock). These 2 gastropods are from the Verulam Formation in Ontario. I think they may be Hormotoma based on the book and a faunal list I have for the formation. Any other ideas???

There's no limit to what you can accomplish when you're supposed to be doing something else

It looks like the turritella that are from the miocene but based on location and age you gave I would say you are right on with the genus Hormotoma...I don't know the species though.

Hard to tell with internal molds, but I think you have two different genera; the left one being Hormotoma or Loxonema, and right one a Loxoplucus.
