The tooth on the left is a 3 5/8 inch Auriculatus found by my grandson on the last Friday of last year. On the right is an Auriculatus root I found yesterday at the same quarry. If only it was the whole thing. I believe it would have been 4" plus.

Tooth your grandson found has nice root and serrations. No cusps? Yeah that big root stinks. I find so much stuff that I wish was whole!

Ok yeah that second pic really shows a diff. In the first pic the roots don't look much different.

Reminds me of the tip of a meg I found in GMR. It is HUGE. The thing is perfect too. The enamel was splintered so I was convinced I broke it with the shovel. I dug for hours and went back three times but never found the rest. It has to be a huge tooth.
