Jack the Collector
More estate fossils,Would you let me know if I am on the right track?I do not want to go off in a wrong direction identifying these.AS we have all learned you can think one thing and it can turn out to be another Photo 1 I feel is obvious---may too obvious,Partial deer antler Photo2 I am thinking tusk, but could it be a tooth? Photo 3 Almost sure this is from a Capybara Photo4 Tapir Jaw? We are all merely curators for the next generation.
Auspex
What part of a Capybara is #3 from? Looks something like a Skate dentition plate to me "There has been an alarming increase in the number of things I know nothing about." - Ashleigh Ellwood Brilliant “Try to learn something about everything and everything about something.” - Thomas Henry Huxley >Paleontology is an evolving science. >May your wonders never cease! tracer
deer antler is deer antler. "tusk" is probably a tine, but probably need to see ends to guess less speculatively, mouth plate is what they said, jaw is definitely partial.
Phoenixflood
Yeah, I'd have to see more pics of number 2 at many angles, sorry The soul of a Fossil Hunter is one that is seeking, always.
Guest Cris
I can't give a positive ID on the jaw section in the last pic, but I know it's not Tapir.

lawooten
More estate fossils,Would you let me know if I am on the right track?I do not want to go off in a wrong direction identifying these.AS we have all learned you can think one thing and it can turn out to be another Photo 1 I feel is obvious---may too obvious,Partial deer antler Photo2 I am thinking tusk, but could it be a tooth? Photo 3 Almost sure this is from a Capybara Photo4 Tapir Jaw? I just checked with all the modern deer skulls I have collected and I have no doubts that the fourth pic is the teeth from deer an Odocoileus virginianus and of course the antlers are also deer. I have clear examples of these also in my fossil collection. The second one is a crocodilus the third one is Skate plate. The each tooth in a camel are like two chambers connected and the deer is in a singular line just like the pic. Carl O'Cles
Agree first is deer antler Not sure on second, but it is not croc. Croc teeth are striated and this has a very smooth surface. Third is a patrial ray plate not skate, skates have teeth not plates not sure on the fourth
