Well, it's been a very long time since I've shown you guys some fossils, so I just went out and took some photos of some stuff from my last couple dives.

Here's two Florida auriculatus teeth...pretty uncommon out of any river other than the Suwannee, but I have a small site that seems to occasionally produce them. The bite damage on the lighter colored one really makes it a real heart breaker...very rarely do you get those colors from any Eocene teeth here unless you find a mine...and of course, only the tip was buried when I first saw it, so I just knew it was going to be flawless.

Next is this thing I found yesterday evening:

Capromeryx (antelope) horn cores from the Blancan (latest Pliocene/earliest Pleistocene.) Yes, one of the horns are broken off, but for something this rare I won't complain a bit. Click HERE and look at the antelope's head...that's this piece - the two horns and part of the eye socket.

Awesome finds, Cris.

That antelope Horn core piece is wild! :)

I totally feel your pain on that heart breaker Ric.

Sweet teeth, though.

Thanks for posting them!

Wow! Cool stuff! I know I live in the land of sweet mine-found rics, but I have only one to show for almost five trips. Getting some serious auriculatis envy up here.

Still tearing up the Blancan stuff! That really is an interesting fauna.

I only manage to find heartbreakers.

Nice finds! If it's to much strain on you, you can give me that damaged Ric and I'll bear the heartbreak for you.

This one was a big surprise...I wasn't even hunting a Blancan site, so it was the last thing I expected to find. Looks like it must have rolled in from further upstream where there's more Blancan stuff.

Wow, the Rics are awesome even with the nick of feeding damage. Congrats on the nice finds!

DO, or do not. There is no try.

Chris, whay you lack in "show" quantity, you make up for with the wow factor. The horn core is way cool and the smaller ric is a great color. Awesome finds!!

Very nice finds Cris. I'm still hoping to get a few days to hunt down your way but I won't find anything like that horn core or the Ric's cause I'll be further south in the Peace.
