I have heard of many fossils from Vermont, not like the Midwest in quantity, however there are supposed to be numerous places ito find Trilobites and other marine creatures. If anyone knows of any good spots feel free to post it here.

This website has some very old info that may be a good jumping off point.

Be mindful that since the info is old, it may no longer be accurate, or relevant. Sites may be paved over, gone, or otherwise no longer accessable.

A good place to start your research though.

Regards,

The Journal of Paleontology has a treasure trove of Vermont trilobite papers. Shaw et al. published a series of 16 papers on the early Paleozoic faunas of Vermont. This LINK would be a good starting point for research and localities. I hope you can discover some of these trilobites as a result. Good Luck

Thanks. I hope to be able to find some close to home as I have recently seen Vermont bugs online for sale but I don't have the money that they want for them lol.

We recently went up to Lessar Quarry in South Hero. There are many different brachiopod fossils there, it is owned by the University of Vermont. You would need to contact the head of the Geology department for permission.  Knights Point State park is also a good place to look.
