Trilobites...as I Get Them Clean

Very nice! I got to get back out there. I'm taking the slow approach with a few and seeing what the weather will do to them.

Haha....slow approach?? I've got a few that are taking me quite a bit of time, but I'm getting this process down well with about 50 clean so far. If I didn't have it down, look at how bad it would be with me going at least once a month. I'm loving every minute of it. If you decide to come up, let me know and we can try to make it to where you can stay here to save on costs.

WOW, and I thought I was the only one that used tools like you and rubbed things on the sidewalk. I would have never told anyone I did that but since you do I guess it is not that strange.

I did a half a day of hunting today as it is very HOT here! Nothing cleaned yet, however I did want to share a picture of me looking for the bugs (used my tripod)

and before I went Bob asked me if I would do the pleasure of taking pictures of this little trilobite, which I might add is already sold. How awesome is this trilobite though??!!

Tom- haha, my table was cleaned off the next day. Must keep clean to get more fossils . Of course, I just went today, so that means table will be half full again for a day or so.

I spent a bit of my time picking up brachs etc. I found this, which I believe is a crinoid calayx:

And this brach, which I absolutely love as it's translucent.

Still cleaning on the bugs.

This Lichida face has seen better days...

This one suprised me because when I picked him up, I just saw him as a broke one. I spent a little bit of time on him today just kind of playing around but soon discovered that he had his eyes and nose hidden. Not perfect but he's pretty cool in my book.

The last one I just posted? I think he's a kettneraspis williamsi. His side spikes are missing, but part of one is there. He was on the very edge of the rock which is why part of his one side is missing the ends of all of the spines.

It's a baby Huntonia head and also some unidentifed head (I think) behind him. He's kind of cute being just a little over 1/2".

Impressive collection! Great job on the cleaning & preserving them. I'm going to have to learn that some day.
