Just the last question.

Could it be piece of fossil (wood)?

It was whole piece. I thought its a metal. My friend tryed to prove that its not .... and now its 2 pieces :-)

It could be bone or wood, once fossilized/petrified, either become rock. If you can take a close up macro photo, there should either be lines or pores. Usually lines indicate wood and pores bone, though this is not always the case. Either would sound a lot like metal in the way it resonates when struck. Nice friend by the way. Use a magnet next time.

Having said that, some high iron containing soils could fossilize/pertrify stuff yielding some magnetic properties, hope someone who knows a little more than me speaks up.
