upsman
Hello everyone, I'm new here and excited to learn more about fossils. I found this claw on the Arkansas River in Oklahoma a couple years ago, but never thought much about it until I stumbled across it in a shoebox today. I'm really interested to possibly learn what animal this came from.

upsman
After some research, I believe it is a Sloth claw. That is very cool! Thanks for the help guys. Any idea of the age and value? It is right at 5" long along the curve and 2 1/4" wide at it's widest point.
Auspex
It's from the Ice Age; nice find! PrehistoricFlorida
After some research, I believe it is a Sloth claw. That is very cool! Thanks for the help guys. Any idea of the age and value? It is right at 5" long along the curve and 2 1/4" wide at it's widest point. It is a sloth claw core, likely Megalonyx sp. It's Plio-Pleistocene. Because it is missing the proximal articulating surface it's a <$100 piece. www.PrehistoricFlorida.com
