Tiberon
Can anyone identify these? About an inch in diameter, and inch long, found 1 hr north of san francisco along coast.
Carl
Not worm tubes but similar. I used to find these on the beach in Santa Cruz and I think I learned that they are created by a kind of bivalve. Not likely fossils.
Tiberon
Thanks. Do you mean the tube that a clam extends to the surface?
Auspex
Thanks. Do you mean the tube that a clam extends to the surface? I'm just thinking out loud here, but I can imagine something like a geoduck clam producing a cemented accretion around its burrow to the surface.
