Harry Pristis
Brave lad! What is it in that second image? If you don't know, how about some different views of it. http://pristis.wix.com/the-demijohn-page What seest thou else In the dark backward and abysm of time? ---Shakespeare, The Tempest
Shellseeker
Odd bone ??? Harry, almost the consistency of tillybone or fish ballast. It does not seem to be rock or even hardened mud. Here are some extra photos. The White Queen ".... in her youth she could believe "six impossible things before breakfast"
Auspex
I think it is a periotic bone, probably from a marine mammal. rwhitty2012
Love the antler! We went a few weeks ago when it had been 40 something the night before. It was a warm day but the water was chilly. We'll wait until it warms up a little before going again. I've seen some of those odd shaped ones, one I have almost looks like mouse ears. I have one that feels more glassy than rough like a bone. The last two, look maybe like an alligator (cracked one) and barracuda tooth. These are some I have found. The first 3 I believe are alligator or crocodile teeth. The one on the right may be a barracuda tooth. These are all concave on the bottoms. The alligator teeth have circular growth rings in them and are pretty neat. It looks like yours has the same type of rings. This site also has some photos of fossil alligator teeth to compare. http://www.fossil-tr...com/gat010.html
