This is a very interesting article. I was surprized to read here that the End Ordovician extinction was not confined to the short Hirnation period as a two-phased extinction event, but occured as a prolonged richness loss, with three major phases, lasting 10–12 Myr, starting in the Sandbian. This is the result of analysis of the south and north Chinese fossil record. I wonder if the fossil record on other continents show the same?
