Wonderful accolade Scott. Do you have a specimen of your own?

A cast of the holotype is on the way, as soon as it arrives I'll post a photo! photo-smiley-face.gif?1302011403

Congratulations Scott for the advancement of Trilobite Science and a species dedicated to your superb find! Well Done my friend! PL :D

There are other donated specimens but I'm not the original finder, hopefully I'll visit Morocco in the future and find one too.

Thanks -- Nathan, Mike, Roger, Carmine, Russ, Peter, and thanks again all for the kudos on my amazing trilobite progeny!

Today we get this interesting paper utilizing modern mantis shrimp as a possible analog for trilobite enrolment.

Quote

Enrolment in modern day organisms is primarily known from terrestrial arthropods, e.g., pill bugs and pill millipedes, but in the Palaeozoic it was mainly performed by marine organisms such as trilobites, agnostines and their relatives. Stomatopod larvae that appear to be able to perform enrolling in a marine environment are therefore a potential functional equivalent for better understanding the functional aspects of enrolment in extinct marine arthropods.
