DeloiVarden
Hey Guys, Met up with Madduck this morning for a quick fossil hunt. It was really cold and hard to focus on the ground with our watery eyes and running noses . Despite the cold, we managed to find a few teeth and had a good time talking about our fossil hunting exploits and life in general. For those of you that have not met him, your missing out. A real nice guy. He may post some of the finds here in a bit if he hasn't yet, but I did manage to get a good ground shot of a tooth in situ I think you guys call it. There are three shots, one further away and a closeup, both before I pulled it out and one after. The lighting isn't so good and my phone camera is pretty poor, but the pics capture how easy it is to miss these a decent tooth. Shellseeker
Nice photos -- even when I get a chance, I do something foolish like grab the tooth before thinking of taking the progressive in-Situ shots. I think that I am skipping tomorrow hunts based on strong NW winds and 47 degrees at 8:30 this am. Supposed to be the same tomorrow!!! Mudduck
Thanks DeloiVarden! Your the one that is really super nice and if you have not met him, you are missing out. Enjoyed the hunt. It was one of the coldest mornings I have been out hunting fossils. It took a while for my feet to thaw out after we were done. Here is the after cleaned up pic of the above mentioned tooth. Angustidens. I don't think we found any megs today. If we did, it was chunks and chips. Most were angy's and mako's. And I must say, most were found by DeloiVarden! I don't think he kept anything he found. He has a very good eye. I learned some things from him. He even gave me a good lesson in life whether he knows it or not. There a number a places to hunt around here. Hopefully I will be on top of things if any of you decide to make a trip down here. I can not make any guarantees. Like I stated earlier, if I am available, I would be glad to show you around.
